FAQ

Is the treatment painful?

A topical numbing cream is applied to minimize discomfort, making the procedure well-tolerated by most patients.

How many sessions are needed?

Results vary, but most people benefit from 3–4 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart.

When will I see results?

Some improvements appear within weeks, but full collagen regeneration occurs over 3–6 months.

Is there downtime?

Mild redness and swelling may occur for 24–48 hours, but most people return to normal activities within a day or two.

Contraindications

This treatment may not be suitable in the presence of: Keloid or raised scarring on targeted area, history of actinic (solar) keratosis, history of Herpes, Simplex infections, history of diabetes, presence of raised moles, warts or any raised lesions on the targeted area.

This treatment cannot be used in the presence of: scleroderma, collagen vascular diseases or cardiac abnormalities, rosacea and blood clotting problems, active bacterial or fungal infection, immuno-suppression, scars less than 6 months old, facial fillers less than 6 months old, pregnancy, prescription blood thinning drugs and metallic implant.

Downtime

Day 1

Possible erythema and red appearance which varies between people.

Day 2

A red or pink hue persists like a moderate sunburn. Light swelling may be noticeable on waking and usually subsides as the day goes on.

Day 3

Skin may still be slightly pink. The slight swelling has usually subsided.

On subsequent days the skin may feel tight and dry. Your normal skincare programme can be resumed after day 3, with more active products being introduced after day 5 or when the skin has returned to normal.

Appropriate skincare will be recommended on the day of your treatment to help accelerate the healing process, protect the skin from the environment and enhance your desired results.
