What is BBL?

Meet the world’s most powerful intense pulsed light device - Sciton BBL Hero System. BBL, also known as Broadband Light, is a modern version of IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) therapy.

It sets new standards in treating a variety of skin conditions such as pigmentation, sun spots, redness, rosacea, acne lesions, and vascular concerns leaving skin looking clearer, and smoother, with reduced pigmentation and vascularity.

The light’s energy and heat are absorbed by the brown pigment (melanin) in the skin and the haemoglobin in blood vessels. It triggers a wound-healing response, generating new cells and boosting new collagen production achieving younger-looking skin.

What to expect at The Skin Lab?

Your treatment time will depend on the size of the area to be treated. During the procedure, you will be given eye protection goggles.

A numbing cream may be applied on sensitive areas. Your skin will be exposed to quick blasts of high-intensity light.

Most of our clients report feeling a warm sensation and mild discomfort similar to the snapping of the rubber band. A cooling setting will be used to reduce overheating of the skin.

The treatment can be combined with other Sciton procedures such as HALO to achieve an all over rejuvenation of the face and body.

BBL vs IPL

BBL system is known for its superior precision and ability to be tailored to the unique requirements of individual patients. Optimal results can also be achieved with fewer sessions compared to IPL. BBL also stimulates collagen and rejuvenates the skin.

Unlike CO2 laser treatments, both IPL and BBL are non-invasive and result in minimal downtime.
