Light Emitting Diode (LED) is otherwise known as light therapy without any light damage or sensitivity to the sun. Originally developed by NASA for astronauts who could become injured or ill on a long-term space flight, the technology is used today as a safe and natural method of treating a variety of skin and pain conditions such as acne, anti-aging, and pain.

Using wavelengths that are scientifically proven to stimulate fibroblasts to increase collagen and elastin, LED light therapy will reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, while experiencing an improvement in skin texture, quality and smoothness.

Clinical research has shown that blue wavelength works safely and effectively, without abrasive chemicals, harmful UV-rays or side effects, to destroy acne-causing bacteria — not only clearing up existing blemishes, but preventing future breakouts before they happen.

Dermalux treatment at The Skin Lab

LED light therapy involves the application of specific wavelengths of light energy to tissue to obtain therapeutic benefits. The energy delivered is then used to improve cellular performance. The treatment is non-invasive, painless, requires no recovery time, and can be used on all skin types.

Our top of the range Dermalux Tri Wave LED – an award winning light therapy device. It produces blue, red and infrared wavelengths to treat skin concerns such as acne, anti-aging, skin texture and pigmentation.

What does the laser treatment involve?

A thorough skin consultation is carried out, concentrating on helping you understand the procedure, possible side effects, and the importance of after care.

Depending on skin concern, the correct wavelength will be chosen to maximize the results. LED therapy device will be placed close to the skin for a duration of 30 minutes. While results can be seen after the first treatment, a series of treatments are usually recommended to suit the individual patient. For acne 2 sessions per week are recommended. For anti-aging 2 sessions per week are recommended.

A thorough skin consultation is carried out, concentrating on helping you understand the procedure, possible side effects, and the importance of after care.
