Clinical facials successfully combine beauty and science for a result driven treatment that can be completely tailored to skin types and concerns, promoting and maintaining health skin.
We use advanced and active skincare containing pharmaceutical grade ingredients that penetrate deep into the skin. These luxurious and tailored treatments select a range of researched products rather than a pre-set menu, and provide real results that last far beyond the treatment room.
Clinical Facial vs SPA Facial
The difference between clinical and spa facials revolves around the products used. Clinical facials employ cosmeceutical products which are so called for their ability to penetrate beyond the surface and into the dermis, delivering key ingredients for longer lasting results.
Whilst many expensive spa and beauty brands have a luxurious feel and calming aromas they are unable to really pass beyond the top skin layers. For this reason, they are excellent at providing a short-term glow and skin boost, along with a sense of calm and well-being, but unlikely to provide longer term change to the operation and structure of the skin.
What does the Clinical Facial treatment involve?
Our Clinical Facials begins with a thorough skin consultation where the emphasis is placed on helping you understand what is contributing to your skin concern and how to treat it. Your treatment is then designed specifically for your skin type and skin concerns. Choosing from a host of cosmeceutical products, your Clinical Facial is designed exclusively for you. In addition to your symptoms, your skin type, and skin health will determine the approach that is taken when designing your treatment.
Long-term results and skin maintenance are achieved by continued regular advanced clinical facials and accompanied by a preventative, corrective and protective homecare programme.
The reaction of the skin post treatment will depend on the type of facial chosen. You may notice that the skin is more red and feels tighter than usual for up to two hours afterwards. The skin may feel tight or dry and you may experience mild flaking in certain areas for a few days. Rarely, you may experience crusting of the skin or slight swelling.
Appropriate skincare will be recommended on the day of your treatment to help accelerate the healing process, protect the skin from the environment and enhance your desired results. Your normal skincare programme can be resumed after day 3, with more active products being introduced after day 5 or when the skin has returned to normal. Accelerate the healing process, protect the skin from the environment and enhance your desired results.
NB: A reactivation of cold sores is possible so please see your Doctor for a course of prophylactic medication prior to clinical facial.
