ICON Three for Me is a treatment recommended for clients who are looking to address more than one particular skin concern. It has been specifically developed to reverse an array of common skincare issues to reveal even-toned, revitalised skin. As an all in one treatment, it is the best way to achieve flawless, youthful skin.

Stress, pollution exposure, lack of sleep and UV radiation cause a great deal of damage to the skin and can result in the early emergence of wrinkles, discolouration, texture and broken capillaries. Performed using Cynosure’s advanced Icon Max G IPL and fractional laser technology, this treatment addresses several major skin concerns, such as sun damage, pigmentation, wrinkles, facial veins, acne scarring, enlarged pores.

ICON Three for Me: What to expect at The Skin Lab's Killarney clinic

The treatment is performed in just two simple steps. The first step uses an Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology to treat discoloration and even out skin tone. Skin discoloration can include sun damage such as freckles, brown spots or age spots. This step also treats unwanted facial veins, including broken blood vessels, spider veins and rosacea to reduce redness in the skin.

The second step uses two different depths (XD & XF) of non-ablative fractional laser technology to fully rejuvenate the skin. This will encourage skin renewal for a smoother appearance. This unique technology stimulates new collagen and elastin production, which is the key to supporting the structure of your skin. Fine lines, wrinkles, scars, open pores and other surface imperfections are dramatically reduced, restoring a youthful complexion.

What does the Three for Me treatment involve?

A thorough skin consultation is carried out, concentrating on helping you understand the procedure, possible side effects, and the importance of after care.

Three for Me FAQs

Numbing cream is applied to reduce discomfort prior to treatment. Feeling heat and slight discomfort can be experienced. Just as every other laser treatment, the sensation can be best described as an elastic band lightly flicking off the skin.

It is difficult to predict the number of sessions required, as it depends on the client's skin type, general skin condition and desired goal. Improvement may be visible after the first treatment, but a course of 4 to 6 visit is recommended for long-lasting results.

IPL and Fractional laser causes heat in the targeted tissues, therefore it is quite acceptable for the area to be slightly reddened and swollen immediately after treatment.

The therapist may ice the skin during or right after the treatment. Mineral-based make up can be applied 24 hours after the treatment.

Depending on the condition of the skin and on the home care routine, could be between 3 to 7 days.

Important to know before Three for Me treatments

As this treatment is a combination of advanced laser treatments the skin needs to be prepared with active ingredients, which is covered in a thorough consultation. You will be asked to stop using all products containing active ingredients a few days prior to treatment.

Sun exposure, sunbeds or fake tan should be avoided prior to the treatments. Melanin cells are responsible for tanning. Your tan slowly ‘wears off’ as those cells reach the surface of your skin in the normal skin– shedding activity, known as skin renewal.

Fake tans stain the outer skin cells, and this colour will intensify the heat at the surface of the skin during treatment, therefore the area cannot be treated with any laser for at least two weeks after a fake tan application.

Important to know after Three for Me treatments

Touching the treated area should be avoided, as it will be hot, red and swollen.

Recovery post balm is strongly advised and can be purchased at the clinic. Keeping the area clean is crucial and activity involving heat, such as hot showers, exercise, sauna etc. should be avoided for at least 24 hours.

Mineral make up can be applied after 24 hours. Direct sun exposure should be avoided and sun block with both UVA and UVB protection should be worn daily. Chlorinated pools or spa baths and perfumed products should also be avoided. Products containing active ingredients can be used again a week after the treatment.
